What Is a First Cleaning?
A First Cleaning is the initial visit for a new recurring cleaning client. It allows additional time and attention for areas that may need more care before the home transitions into routine maintenance. It is more detailed than a standard recurring visit, but it is not automatically a Deep Cleaning .

- Remove cobwebs
- Dust blinds
- Clean sink
- Clean countertops
- Wipe cabinet fronts
- Clean top and front of refrigerator
- Clean microwave inside and outside
- Load dishes into dishwasher if empty
- Clean exterior of dishwasher
- Clean stovetop/cooktop
- Dust baseboards
- Give additional attention to accumulated dust on accessible surfaces
- Move small items when needed to clean surfaces more thoroughly
- Vacuum floors
- Mop appropriate hard floors
- Empty trash
Entryway
- Remove cobwebs
- Dust blinds, if applicable
- Clean window sills
- Dust furniture and accessible surfaces
- Move small items when needed to clean more thoroughly
- Clean mirrors within reach
- Clean glass doors, if applicable

Homes with significant buildup or areas requiring intensive detail work may need a Deep Cleaning instead.
First Cleaning vs. Recurring Cleaning
A First Cleaning receives additional time and attention to establish a cleaner starting point for ongoing service. Once that starting point is established, weekly, biweekly, or monthly visits focus on consistently maintaining the agreed cleaning scope.
First Cleaning vs. Deep Cleaning
A First Cleaning is more detailed than routine recurring maintenance, but it is not the same as a Deep Cleaning. Deep Cleaning is intended for homes or areas with heavier buildup or detail work that goes beyond what is needed to establish a normal recurring cleaning routine.
How First Cleaning Works
After your recurring cleaning frequency and estimate are confirmed, the first visit may require additional time to establish a good starting point for future maintenance. We focus on the agreed cleaning scope and give additional attention to accessible areas that need it before regular recurring visits begin.
